So I installed a kenwood double din in my express today and I did it without a PAC module, just a 10$ harness. So if you have the Base radio you do NOT need a PAC module to install an aftermarket radio.

where did you get your 12volt source from? did you have the factory steering wheel controls?

No steering wheel controls. My harness came with a longer 12v wire. I spliced in to one of the cig lighter plugs. The 12v constant was in the radio harness. I had to go find the 12v switched.

Some people were having issues with that burning up head units. I hope it's not the case for you. Just telling you what I have been reading and told by some install shops around the area.
