Hey guys I got into my truck after work today and it was pretty warm out and the truck was hotter so I turned on my ac full blast and sat in the parking lot about 10 minutes waiting for the other guys I ride with. The air coming out the vents didn't seem that cold almost warm. I figured maybe once I got going down the highway. But the whole 20 minute ride home it was blowing warm air. But tonight I had to run to the corner store and i tried the ac again the air seemed to be cold. Mind you was also colder outside. Is this a common problem? I called my dealer as I just bought it new in February. Only 8500km on it. So any fix will be under warranty but I'm wondering if I should bring it in now as the my dealer(and the closest one) is 2 hours down the highway. Would like to avoid a trip for something stupid. It seemed to work before and the only thing I've done is change the oil, and I don't think clean oil is the suspect lol

just poke "auto" and make sure the interior temp is set low enough and see what it does. If its warm air then, then yea id bring it in.

I had it running on max ac full blast and it was only 11*C outside. And it just felt cool like it had gone thru a fan. The clutch on the ac compressor is working I checked that

how quickly is the clutch cycling tho? if its a quick on - off then the system has a low charge. Otherwise it could be a blend door issue behind the dash

I also have a 2014 and the air wasn't working well since new. I took it to the dealer, who evacuated the refrigerant and re-filled it. Not much better. I have heard that using the auto setting may help. I had been using it manually but was sure that recirc was selected. I also tinted every piece of glass in the truck to help keep the cabin cool. IMO, the A/C system is just not designed that well in our trucks.

Mine has done that a few times. I turn off the ac and turn it back on and it's fine. I'll have it looked at one day and they will say it works fine.

My 14' 1500 Laramie had the same issue, but my new 14' 2500 has ICE cold AC. Wonder if it has a diff compressor on it or something huge difference though

The 2014 1500s do use the 1234 refrigerant rather than the 134.

Also the 1234 compressor is variable where as the ladder is not.

Personally I don't think this is a refrigerant problem. It sounds like to me the electric fans are not kicking on and cooling the freon as its passed through the radiator.

Sounds more like an electronic issue with some signal not getting passed correctly so the system isn't functioning properly.
