First time on any blog but I'm stumped. 2011 ram 1500. If I'm on the gas decently or going up hill, basically at least a little on the gas the power comes and goes at a very even pattern. Best I can describe it is if you Invision what a microwave or light wave looks like, up and down up and down but and constant and very evenly patternd,,,, full power for a couple seconds then about 20 less horse power for a couple seconds then back to full power. On off on off all the time anytime I'm decently on the gas. Because it's such a even pattern and always doing it I'm thinking a sensor or relay that is dirty or fouled or O2 sensors,I don't know.plugs look good although I only checked a few but they are rather new. I do eat oil like most of these do so maybe one of the plugs I haven't checked is could but I'm not sure a fould plug would turn on and off in such a constant pattern. Please help if you can. I work daily and a new born here in two months and don't have time to start yanking everything to try.

Have you looked for codes ? Maybe your throttle body needs a clean up .

No codes and I've done a throttle body cleaning a few times with the seafoam intake injection, letting it sit then blowing out all the carbon

So I just changed the EGR and the map sensor and still intermittent power. Infact in park if I try to hold 1900 rpm or 2200 or whatever you can see it bounce , 1800, 1900, 1800, 1900.

Not sure if I’m too late. Couple questions, does this issue start at the same RPM almost every time? No check engine lights? Have you checked/replaces your spark plugs?

Start with the easy stuff. Since there are no codes when you use an OBD reader, disconnect battery for a couple of hours, reconnect. Check to make sure all fuses are properly seated. Does your OBD application have a live scan function, mine does.

This sounds very much like a fuel issue. Run a couple of cans of injector cleaner in your gas. It is possible your fuel pump is starting to go out on you. You can measure fuel pressure on the rail but if that doesn't reveal anything next step is you will have to hook it up to a live scan tool. Let us know what you find.

I agree it sounds like some kind of fuel delivery issue
