THANK You, Ken for that response to my question on steering.

Also, as for this last post re: corrosion on the connector: The “Front Grill Sight Shield” (I think that’s what Mopar calls it…what we used to call the “air dam”)…. those plastic shields beneath and around the front bumper…are intended to re-direct water, mud, snow, etc from the engine compartment and electrical connectors, etc. They are Not simply for cooling-air etc.
Some folks remove them when they install aftermarket parts …or damage them on curbs….or when servicing the vehicle and then simply thought they were unimportant and troublesome…..and then they don’t replace or reinstall them. That’s a mistake. (and could create problems such as corroded or damaged connectors, etc.)

I used to win a lot of arguments in my marriage….. :argue: ..until Google.

Yesterday I discovered on Giggle the method to re-calibrate electric power steering: Engine ON, Turn steering wheel all the way to Right…and hold 5 secs…then all the way Left, hold 5 secs… back to center…. then key off.
Wait a half-minute …then ignition back On…and it should be reset.

Anyone able to further explain why a “scan tool” is necessary?

Thank you ill try this as the replacement harness got me back to square one. Truck starts up no codes but as soon as I turn the wheel it kicks off, this is the original unit. I'll try replacement unit again this weekend with new wiring harness

Yeah. Google. LOL Since it always stated to push the TPMS reset button on the left of the steering column to reset TPMS faults. Only thing is, our trucks don't have a TPMS reset button.
