Just noticed this today. Heading home, while under light acceleration, my rpms would drop by 50-100rpm at a time per every 200 rpm or so I gained. Took off od and floored it, went from 3rd to 2nd, but didn't climb too good. Any time it goes from 2nd to 1st under hard acceleration it climbs good though. No lights or anything popping up, so I don't know what to do. Anybody have a similar issue?

I revved it at the first light I had time to stop at, and hit about 4100 or so and acted like it was bouncing off the rev limiter, which it has done since I've owned the truck.

I'm giving it some time to cool off so I can go mess with it and see if I can hear anything in it.

Your engine should rev right to the rev limiter which is 5500. If not then I would think the cat as well. After it cools go out there and tap the cat and see if you hear a lot of noise.

Don't just tap, lightly wack with a rubber mallet after it's cooled. Should break up a bunch of clogging if you have it. Cheap fix to get you by until you can get a new cat or get new pipe in

How do our trucks run straight piped?I don't have emissions here so I'm not worried about that for the meantime.
