Is it normal for a 2015 Ram 2500 6.4L to have the cooling fan run 80% of the time or does my truck have an issue? Asking because I obviously don't know and am new to Heavy Duty trucks. Any helpful answers would be much appreciated.

Do you have your AC on?

Is it the electric fan or clutch fan that’s running? The electric fan will turn on and off when the A/C is on and you’re stopped or parked.

Sounds like the fan right behind the radiator. I don't have experience with a clutch fan. Sorry for the noob questions, this is a new world to me.

Sometimes, not always. You bring up a good point and I'll start paying more attention to the AC, but I live in CO and don't use it as much as others.

Gotcha. My 4.7L RAM (2013) usually has the secondary E-fan on, but i’m in California, where it’s been getting up into the 110s. Does a great job cooling i must add, but i do want a V6 e-fan.
