Is it the key fob or the WIN module?

2011 Ram 1500 Big Horn.

My key fob lock and unlock dont work, but starts the truck fine.

Far as I can tell, the two components in this system are the Key FOB and the WIN (Wireless Ignition Node).

How do I determine which is the problem?

Don 't you have a second FOB, that would eliminate it

In the Remote, there are few things that go wrong
First thing everyone looks at is the Battery, very seldom does the battery die

Inside the Remote, there is a green circuit board, they get dirty & the contacts become separated

Another thing that goes wrong is the inside of the case itself, the part of the case that has the letters on it, if you look at the inside directly opposite the words, you will see a nub.
When say the Lock button is pushed, that nub presses against the contact on the green circuit board.

You may be able to take a paper clip & touch the green circuit board contact points in a certain way & if it works, then you would know that the case itself needs fixing or replacing

When my Win module went bad (same year model but was a 2500) I couldn't start the truck or remove the FOB. I had to have it towed to the dealership a let them fix the problem. That sucked for me because the tow truck driver couldn't put the truck in neutral and had to drag it onto the flatbed truck. Yours is different in that you are/were able to start the truck. Not sure if that helps or makes a difference? Same year model though.

Look at the Emergency Brake Panel
just above it, there is another panel
Pop it open & there is a red strap in there
Pulling that strap, puts the transmission in neutral

My 2015 Ram 2500 6.7 Turbo diesel has been awesome. With about 120k miles on it, I returned home from a short 30 mile trip into town. Shut the truck down got out and attempted to lock the doors with my key fob as usual. The doors did not lock. Tried all of the function buttons. No Panic, No lock/unlock and no remote start. Stick the fob into the ignition and the truck starts right up and runs fine. Repeat to process noted above with same result. Try my other three key fobs. Same result with two out of three and one fob just totally dead to include not starting the truck. (new battery in the dead fob changes nothing). Trouble shooting so far nets zero obvious leads. I have several tried several OBDII readers and AlfaOBD as well. I am at a loss. Any feedback or suggestions appreciated.
Still having issues. I am unable to confirm whether my WIN module has malfunctioned or by some miraculous event, all of my FOBs died simultaneously. On a related note, does anyone know the purpose of the small electric motor inside of the WIN module?
