The dealer says that my pedestrian and forward crash warning are working. Though the mechanic said that he had to nearly crash into somebody to trigger it. The rear auto braking has already saved me some embarrassment but I swear the forward would let me drive through my garage door. Is there a way to test it? I'm thinking that trying to run over a tall cardboard box might work. Any other ideas would be appreciated

I hate it when my pedestrian avoidance goes out. Does anyone have something stronger than a clay bar you can recommend for getting eye glasses embedded in the bumper off? I’m genuinely curious how you observed the thing may not be working.

...pedestrians usually avoid 6000 pound moving steel boxes. LOL
Wow, the general populace must be way smarter down there.

Granted, it was only a 4000# (?) Explorer, but I witnessed just this morning someone that was going to cross the road without looking and my wife had to brake to cause them to hear (?) something odd and look up to see something that could kill them bearing down on the open road...

Mine slammed on the brakes when I tried to drive through a small pile of leaves a few months ago. I think a cardboard box would work fine for a test.

There are settings in Alfa OBD related to pedestrian avoidance, I would do what you said and just set up a fridge box in a parking lot,

I agree, I'm also curious to know how you figured out it's not working or working well. That's certainly not something that would cross my mind if it weren't working (personally, I'd turn it off if possible).
