Is the truck worth the trade in?

I currently have a 2012 Mustang convertible but I have been thinking about doing a trade in for a truck.

Truck:
2010 Ram 1500 SLT Crew Cab 2WD
Mileage:102,585 miles
Engine: 8-Cylinder
V8, 5.7Ll
Price:$19,995

My main concern is the high mileage. Will this truck still last a good time, or should I look somewhere else?

I would pass. You can get a brand new quad cab express witch has About the same features for 25ish. I paid about 31 for my quad cab express 4wd with trailer brake, back up camera, and chrome 20s. I would think 5 grand for 4 years newer and 100k less miles is worth it to me. Just my 2 cents. If you want crew cab it'll run more like 27-28 for 2wd and 33-34 for 4wd. Atleast in north texas.

I wouldn't trade in for that. I paid $21,000 for a 2010 SLT 4x4 with 36k on it. Still under warranty as well.

I paid ten grand for my 07 quad can with hemi and loaded. High mileage as well, but she doesn't run like it. Get five grand off that price and it would be worth it. At least here in Florida.

I paid $26500 for my 2012..it only had 5500 miles on it. I'd say pass on that deal and keep looking or just get new!

My son just scored Certified 2010 SLT 4.7 4x4 quad cab for less than $22K with only 19K miles. Unless you truly need a truck right now, since summer is approaching, I suggest you try to sell the Mustang privately and then deal on a '14 this summer when the '15s are starting to land. If you are upside down on the Ford, you're really going to take a beating if you are trading for something with 100K. Be patient and think everything through. Good luck!

As, everyone has stated...

Dont do that. :)

Its a bad deal. And it was mentioned already, but I will also second the statement about trading in. You can easily sell your Mustang yourself, (unless you are upside-down in it) and get much more for it.

Either way, that price is WAY too much for what you are getting.

Don't get in a rush. On of your greatest allies when buying a vehicle is patience. You will find something way better for way cheaper. Salespeople at dealerships always act they have the only one (regardless of what it is) left in the world. And if you don't act now, that there are 50 people behind you wanting the same ride. Well 99% of the time, that is just not accurate. Remember that the tortoise won the race.

You may know all of this already, but i figured I would share anyway. :ehcapt:

Good luck to you!
