i guess it must be that my truck weights in at 8450 pounds that kills my mpg's

but like my man bullet said .. its a truck . if i wanted mpg's i would walk .

just curious like i said , i had a feeling some guys wit bigger tires would suffer .

its definitely the tires that kill it for us. with each tire being over 100 lbs, thats a TON of unsprung weight to turn over.

FYI, unsprung weight is any rotational weight. It has the effect of 4 times as heavy as sprung weight.

For example. If your tires are 50 lbs heavier than stock (not unrealistic by any means), you've got 200 extra lbs of rubber on all the corners. The truck has to work as hard to turn those tires over as it would stock tires with 800 lbs in the bed.

Highway over 20 mpg, usually around 21 or 22. Here is a vid I made of it bc no one ever really believes that I get that kind of mpg's out of a truck. Best mod for mpg's that I have done is the e-fan.

The only time I reset it is when I do my oil changes. I use the odometer on there to track how long it has been between oil changes so about every 5k I reset the mpg's and odometer.

I'm getting around 9-10 in the city and 12-15 depending on how I drive on the highway. I really need to get that efan mod done. From the sounds of it, it pays itself off just in gas and hp. This is my 287 btw. (4.7)

awesome song playing in your video :waytogo:

as for mileage. Before I had the moto metals and toyo mt's I was getting around 17.5 on the highway and then 12 to 13 in the city. With the moto metals it dropped me down to 15 on the highway and I don't know what in the city.
