Basically, I removed a lot of the "drab" portions of the picture and added in some lens vingeting along with some color improvements.

I have not. I've got Photo Matrix 3.1 which is supposed to do HDR imaging, but I never even installed it. LOL I almost don't want to because it's a fad I think. People make their pictures look too much like a cartoon.

It all depends on each picture depending on the lighting you can make it look better or it can look like you said -a cartoon. You can try it out in cs5.

Yea, it will help a pic out, but I'm having really good luck with shooting pictures in .TIFF and then opening them in CS5 as a .RAW and tweaking the pictures out from there...

I have a really wicked picture of a red rose atop a grand piano, but I can't do much with it right now. Damn thing is 20MB in size. :O
