Has anyone tried the JBA stainless catbacks? I wanted to change things up with my borla pro XS muffler swap and carven tips. The catback is cheap for 409SS and looks like it uses a 3” single in and out with ypipe after to connect to dual 2.5” tailpipes and 4” double wall polished SS tips. I ordered it but also got some better clamps coming as well. I like the ability to swap different mufflers easily and it looks like it comes with a larger muffler (not a 14”) probably a 18” or bigger. I don’t like loud anymore!

Either way when it comes I’m going to ceramic coat it to help with rust as they do the most in CT with salt. I hope fitment is decent since everything is welded on (tips and all).

Well, got the kit today and I’m impressed. The muffler is big, case is 22” x11”x6” and the internals is a design I’ve never seen. Looks like an ypipe into a high flow H pipe with dual 2.75” or tubes but stainless perf core everywhere giving the exhaust lots of area to kill drone. They said they developed the muffler to kill drone and it looks like it would. Everything is 409ss but the tips which are 4” double wall straight cut (they said they were slant cut) which is a bummer and they are fully welded on. Installation should be fun haha. Pipe finish looks real good, welds are great and the hanger is a welded ubolt clamp which I don’t love. Clamps that come with it are u bolts but I already got SS band clamps to replace them.

I’m going to clean these up, scotchbrite it then ceramic coat to help with the CT winters. I also got some DB readings of my borla pro XS muffler swap outside and inside on cold start to compare.

Coated the exhaust in burnt bronze ceramic coating. Muffler is coated too but not in the pic. Hope to install this weekend. Looks like I might be missing the small intermediate pipe so I reached out to summit and JBA for confirmation.

Installed the catback today. Install was okay, mostly just figuring it out without instructions and getting it to line up decently. It does fit fine and changing the exhaust clamps for band clamps made it more annoying I’m sure.

Started it up and it’s def got less cold start bark than the borla with ZZDP resonator tone is still deep but different than a maggy or borla. Free revs sound real good honestly but don’t have any seat time to check drone. I did pick up some sound deadening to do the rear cab to help with any that I hear.

Here’s a video to show the idle and free revs.
