Is it worth it or will too much chit get in the motor? Debating whether to drop one in my 2013 ram sport or not and there's a test that was done saying K&N filters don't trap alot of dust.

Good question I just bought a like new 2012 Ram Express with a Hemi. I was wondering the same thing. I also heard Amsoil filters are better at trapping dust w/o sacrificing airflow.

Oil based filters let too much dirt flow to engine. They are inconsistent as the oil application is difficult to get consistent. You have to pay close attention to its status, and in best case scenario you are letting more dirt into your engine. You will not see any performance gain, so why take risk? I removed mine a long time ago (previous car) after I learned about lack if dirt filtration. The sound was nice, but there was zero performance gain (G35 Infiniti, and Merc E500).

Check Green (that's their brand name) or S&B panel filters if you want to replace. Do your self a favor and avoid K&N. All they have going for them is availability.

I had one and loved it. Truck shifted a little bit better. But the performance and mpg is not gona improve. The only good thing is you have a filter you can oil once every 6 months and be done. No buying paper filters every 10,000 miles. As far as letting dirt in I didn't have a problem.
