Digging into Gen3 ram 1500 5.7L . Found it to be the best Gen Dodge produced. I like manual 4x4 trans shifter, not turn the knob type. I have 224444 miles on it. I myself replaced all front-end parts including rack & pinion, alt. water pump, alt. pulleys. Just can't justify paying big bucks on a new ram that will give me on or about 2-3 miles more per gallon. If the motor craps out, I'll get from Gear Head complete rebuilt Gen 3 motor with OEM and better parts. At 69 yrs. Old don't feel like being debt till I die.

i sold my 2003 hemi 4x4 to my neighbor 5 years ago with 200k on it. it still ran good and no rust. interior was beginning to get brittle. the blend doors got stuck on ac, and rear end started whining. he put another 85k on it. im half tempted to buy it back.

I'd still rather get a thousand stitches if I prefer the styling over paying a stupid amount to get a new truck that doesn't look as good. But, if you want a new one and are willing to pay, I say it's right for you. Factor all that in, they're still cheaper to keep and repair. $50k+ will do a lot of repairs.

Early 3rd gen hemis are the best trucks ever built. Simplicity, power, and the best styling which is why I have a hoard of them. I had a 4th gen longhorn and the styling is bland and it had problematic mds along with a hundred other future electrical nightmares

My 2005 SLT is approaching 180k miles, and it still runs great!

I plan on keeping it as long as I can.

Better to burn-out than it is to rust. Rust never sleeps. All of our vehicles rusted out before they burned out. Neil Young must have been thinking of our vehicles when he said these.
