ok so just purchased an 03 quad cab 1500 200k lifted with a mystery motor swap with around 110k on it . outside of obvious wear and tear repair items I have a serious issue really stressing me and I've spent hours and a few hundred bucks without resolve ! the truck will just shut down usually when I'm off the gas peddle at idle or just shifting into gear it has shut down a handful of times while driving down the road but not as common and now today when I go to start it turns over and cuts out then I recycle the key and starts no problem ! I replaced the ignition switch where I discovered some scortch marks from extreme heat due to a poorly wired remote start and some mystery wires just loosely ******* . so I removed the wires and disconnected the remote start system and still the problem persist ! its not a fuel supply issue the truck would continue to crank if it were this is electrical only codes I'm getting are p0443 for the evap circuit a swapped in a new purge valve but its not pumping so I'm thinking maybe PCM I replaced all replays and nothing is blowing or heating up any input would be helpful !

Dont repalce the pcm its not the issue never is. 100% sounds like failing fuel pump check fuel pressure also or cam and crank sensor also common.

thanks guys so I replaced cam sensor seeing as it was soaked with oil then proceeded to start to change coils but once 2 studs snapped clean off I gave up seeing the plugs had been replaced last year but did find a damhed wire into one of the coils harnesses so I removed one replaced that wire truck running a bit better yet did shut down twice while idling in front of my house . note I cleaned iac . replaced Map sensor , Evaporators purge solenoid and valve near canister still getting cel p0443 and do not feel evapo ticking leading my the believe their issue a wiring issue somewhere buried out of view. I replaced all 5 pin released and the 10amp fuse still nothing I also cleaned main copper ground on the fuse box . this truck is all I have and need it to be solid with zero real money to swap in a more ideal power plant . the gas mileage is nightmarish less then 10 mpg without Ac going on open road conservative driving and truck does feel under pwerwered plus I get the picture the engine was sitting outside in a salvage yard seeing as every fastener is rusted beyond being able to safely remove

Since you're shot-gunning, put a new left rear tire on it. Not fixed? Hmm... Try a new transmission output seal.... Still not fixed? Maybe get it DIAGNOSED! Pay for that diagnosis (by a pro, not a Back Yard Bob), and replace parts that will more likely get you fixed up!

Not necessarily true. Mu old 04 would have issues where it wouldn't start, anywhere from 5 minutes to 1.5 hours, and when it finally did start it was in limp mode. Took it to the dealer and they found the PCM was bad. Replaced it and never had another issue with the truck. Put about 175k miles on it after the PCM replacement. Never say never.

Well I did fix it was a broken wire near the pcm so trucks isnt shutting down anymore and as for the seal the last service technician put the seal on upside down causing it to constantly spew fluid and that was at a dealership I have the records came with truck . since I posted this thread I’ve done a lot and the only thing I can’t resolve he lack of power / signal to Evap solenoid p0443 circuit A - that usually stems from a ground or pcm
Issue! Now if somome has some info r a diagram specifically detailing my the wiring for the Evap solenoid circuit, and which ground specifically it utilizes, I would greatly appreciate it!
