In need of some help. So I have a key fob that one day started acting up. Wouldn’t turn on the vehicle, took about 10 tries. Dealer said it would cost $400 to reprogram. I never used it again. Three days ago I saw it and thought I would try it out. The first day everything was fine. The next day it was really difficult to unlock/lock the vehicle. I had to press really hard and took about 3 tries. Yesterday went to turn on vehicle and tried turning on and nothing happened was saying “wrong key fob”. Still able to unlock/lock doors and turn on radio. Luckily I was a couple minutes from home so I grabbed my “spare key” sure enough turned on right away. My question is, is this as simple as getting it reprogrammed obviously not to the dealer that quoted me $400. Or will I need to get a new key fob. I have a 14 1500 btw.
