My 22 ram 1500 uses a regular key fob, no remote start. Security is no issue so I leave the fob inside the truck nearly 24/7. Are there any unforeseen issues with this practice as I understand the vehicle searches for the fob for a short period after shutting the engine off then goes to sleep if the fob is not located?

My buddy leaves the key for his '22 3500 on top of the dash when it's at his house, has since he brought it home. I haven't heard him having any issues with doing so. It does have push button start.

Ever try hitting your lock button three times on your remote to make sure and aftermarket remote start wasn't installed? Just something to try.

As for leaving your remote in the truck, shouldn't hurt anything unless it was left in there for a very long time without the vehicle running it will never go to sleep so it will eventually drain your battery low enough that you may not be able to start the vehicle.

^^^ DITTO ^^^ But the RF HUB stays active all the time. I would be concerned if the dash board kept powering up (the screen where it says push brake to start). But alas, NEVA leave the key/fob in truck like that. Truck get stolen, U may have a hard time submitting a claim if U leave key/fob in truck. BUT OP, and anyone else, do as yer wallet allows U to be comfortable and happy with. (Don't beat me up, just IMHO only).

Adding my experience strictly for consideration for those who know better...

I have spent plenty of time in my 2014 with "enter and go" FOB in my pocket,
with the ignition set either to "off" or "ACC", and the truck would go to sleep
on me even if I was listening to the radio.

That might have been a result of me sitting in the driver's seat, doors
locked or unlocked never mattered, but it would go completely to sleep.
Every time.

You know it is never all the way asleep, right? lol. Even sitting there, the RF HUB is active, along with a few other systems, drawing minimum amps, more like mAH, but still active.

Yes, I do know that. ;)

That's why I said "completely to sleep" as opposed to 'completely dead'.

My truck has only ever been "mostly dead all day".

when washing the truck , fob in my pocket, truck goes nuts when water hits the windshield and the doors, lights flashing, wipers going , can be a pain at times.
Mine ,dash will light up even if the fob is 50ft away, but nothing will work, other then door locks.
This is in the garage with doors not locked.
