Hey guys couple weeks ago I night shaded my tail lights and third brake light and then installed a set of 30 watt cree LED bulbs on my 2014 ram express. Everything works outside the truck but on the dash I get a fast blinker indicator and a "bulb out" notification in the information center. I know on the older trucks you could just replace the flasher relay with to solve the problem...is this possible with new models or do o have to wire in a relay directly to the blinker bulb wire???

Thanks Scott

Ya unfortunately on the new ones you have to use a resistor like the last guy said. I know what your talking about by older cars I have LEDs in my 98 Trans Am and you just had to pull the mechanical flasher and replace it with a electronic one. Not so easy with this computer crap in the new vehicles.

I agree. A resistor is needed. Just make sure the connection is strong. I've blown 2 l.e.d. tail bulbs because of the increase in power to the bulb. At least that is what I think it is since the right side is working so well. :hmm:

I emailed Jeremy from Retro Shop about the same thing. He said just go to Diode Dynamics, and search "resistor kit". They come in pairs, and easy to install. You should be all set. Unique Coatings tinted my tails, and I'm ordering lamps, and the resistor kit from them.
