Those are good brackets. Only problem is they push the light bar out away from the bumper. The bar is not flush inside the bumper. Really sucks that there is not a option for the 30. I want one as well. 40 a little over kill and you loose your tow hooks. 20 a little small and looks small on the 2500. 30 you can modify your tow hooks but it then makes them weak. Wish someone made a flush 30 bracket.

That will work if you want the 20. I would look at rough country or Amazon to buy the bracket. I think the rough country is 35 bucks. Your paying for the name on that one.

I was in the same boat. I wanted a 30 but didn't want to weaken my tow hooks or have the light outside my bumper. I ended up going with a 20 inch kit and wow! 28000 lumens from a 20 inch bar and its fully rebuildable and warrantied for life and the best part is its under $500 bucks Canadian.

Good call, I overlooked the 20" part of that one. I'd have been pissed, would've been like buying something used off a forum thinking it was new. [emoji15] Too soon?

I don't want to be a party pooper but would this restrict air flow to keep this bad boy cool or would it be too minimal too worry about? It is nice how they tuck right into that slot.

I was looking at that today and I'm not too sure, it's winter in New England, hard to picture anything getting too hot to worry about right now.

Probably would be fine unless you do a lot of heavy towing, then I would think you would want every inch of that thing open for business.

I do tow a 32' tt, but the light would be easy to remove as long as I manufactured some type of plug in the harness.

This was discussed in another thread. One guy had a 40 in his bumper pulling a 37 in AZ 114 degrees with no side effects. He then stated that Ram push these truck even harder in their tests. After he stated that all posts stopped.

If I end up putting a 40 in my bumper I am hoping it makes it more aerodynamic and get better MPG! LMAO

When I installed mine the opening in the bumper for the light bar is way below the engine, for the most part. Inside sitting in the library so can't go look but I believe it is about even or a smudge under the frame rail height.

Looked at mine this morning, looks like there really isn't any cooling right behind there. Maybe different on a diesel though? They may have an intercooler in that area???

Wonder what brackets these are? They don't look like they stick out too much.

Hell im just trying to find tow hooks for my truck. I hate paying $130ish for them when all I need is the hooks. It looks like I have to pay double for just hooks. My truck came with the brackets already there just no tow hooks and to buy the tow hooks they come as a set with the brackets. I asked the dealer and of course they had no answers..... Half the trucks on the lot had that setup..... Bracket but no hook.... I've been looking at the light bars but have been waiting to find some hooks first so I know how much room I would have.

I guess I didn't realize that was a thing, I thought they came all or nothing. You'd think if they sold them that way that Ram would offer just hooks.

Someone on here maybe (brandonjansen) notched his tow hooks out & drilled holes to mount the brackets. Looks real good on his... nice & flush with the bumper. I am sure it weaken the hooks a bit but if you don't plan on yanking cars out of the ditch with your hooks ya should be fine.
