I tried asking this question in a few other LED light bar forums already opened but I haven't gotten an answer in the past few days so I figured i'd start a topic on it.

For those that have mounted a light bar and also have the 8 speed transmission knob, where have you mounted your aux switch to turn on the light bar? I got my bar today and i'm still trying to figure out where I want to put the switch. Pics and ideas would be a huge help!

Use a dummy panel, or go wireless. I plan on using a wireless harness for this reason, no holes to drill :)

It's not a light bar, but it's still a switch; you can see where I mounted my front view camera switch next to the DC outlet in my center console.

I use my bar often. I chose this location because I had no use for the business card holder. I felt that the business card holder protected the switch from being damaged or turned on my accident. The reason the switch is off set is because I plan on mounting another next to it. This location affords me the ability to use my bar while keep my eyes on the road and not have to reach anywhere weird. IMO, the switch looks like something from the movie Independence Day "eagle 1 box 4!!"

Don't have the 8 speed but I think this would work with the 8 speed too (Although I could be wrong of course, someone correct me if I am). Mounted mine in the empty panel above the parking brake release handle, I like it there because it's not in the way but still easily accessible to use and blends in pretty good so it doesn't look out of place like a random switch stuck somewhere. As a bonus it was very easy to do there too.

That looks like a good spot! Unfortunately I have the express model with the fold up center counsel so that really isn't an option for me

That looks like a good spot, is there enough room under there with the park release lever for it? I haven't taken that panel off yet but from looking from the back it looks tight

That panel had nothing behind it on mine, room still for more switches there in the future.

I put to the right of the hood latch. I have 2 rocker switches down there. Hidden away but easy to access.

Used business card holder for both LED bar and Airhorns switches. Easy to use application

No, there isn't. On the 8 speed that is where the manual release is for the transmission. Your switch would have to be very shallow or stick out very far in order to use this spot.

I'm speaking from experience because that is where mine is and I found a semi-shallow switch that sticks out a bit and won't sit flush because the wires in the back are hitting the manual transmission release.

Does anyone have the part number for that door/cover panel?
