LED Running Board Lights

Hello everyone, my wife got me LED strip lights that mount under the doors. The lights have several functions (blinker, approach, running). I've been trying to find info to help with the install of these, but haven't had any luck. There are 4 wires on the lights (WHT, YLW, RED, BLK). Where I'm held up is that the directions say:
Connect WHT wire to door light
Connect YLW wire to running light
Connect RED wire to turn signal
Connect BLK wire to ground

I have an idea of where I want to connect YLW, RED, and BLK wires, but this WHT one is kicking my @$$. Can anyone help identify the "door light" wire that I need to connect to? It should turn on the white lights when the doors are open. Appreciate the help!!

Did you ever figure this out? I just installed same type of lights and tried to wire into trailer hitch for running lights and blinkers but started getting a ‘trailer light out’ warning on the dash. I have the hidden steps that come when any door opens. I plan to install a limit switch on the mechanism of the steps that will turn on the light when the step comes out. I may try to connect running and blinker wires directly into tail lights.
