Want to add sport LED taillights to my 17 Ram. Want to know if there is any difference between the factory Mopar ones and the aftermarket OEM style ones on the market. I had had both in my hands and cant tell any difference between the two other than the Mopar logo and the price. Any thoughts?

Just the quality of the materials used to make them and lack of the ram trademark are about it. I wouldn’t worry so much for tail lights. Headlights I would buy nothing but the best quality of oem

I'm interested in input on this also. 2016 Ram Laramie, has 33,000 miles now, originally bought in November 2016, I bought it as used certified with balance of factory warranty. Passenger brake light went out. Dealer quoting me $300+ for replacement. I think it should be a warranty item, parts guy (over the phone) couldn't give me an answer. No way I'm paying that.

2016 with those low miles and brake light went out?? That's raw, leaves a sting. Ouch:(

That’s what it costs. The higher the price of a vehicle the more parts and maintenance will cost. A tyc light should work just fine for you.

It could be the manufacture that makes them for Mopar. They don't look like copy's, they look like the rear deal.

Those two black lines above the reverse light are definitely different and maybe an attempt to get by the copyright. Idk may be the camera but they don’t look that defined on the real deal.

At the end of the day I really wouldn’t be worried about them. They’re at the back of the truck and not exposed to the extremes of headlight housings. You should be fine.

Just make sure they're for trucks with factory led lighting since most aftermarket led tail lights are not for trucks with factory leds. If they are then save your money. Not as though the oem ones proved themselves superior quality.

In person that both look exactly the same front and back. They have to come from the same mold they looks that good.

Your CH part number cross references to Mopar part numbers. RockAuto lists "various mfgr" along with the actual Mopar part numbers.

My guess is they could be OEM just depending on what supplier Mopar happens to be using at the time.

Are the "CH" parts that much cheaper? Im not seeing great prices on them on the internet (almost like they are OEM)

$220 each for the Mopar and $150 each for the aftermarket, big difference there. Once in a while I find the aftermarket ones down to $125 each.

sounds like your dealer is trying to pocket a little cash call customer service some parts on your truck are covered for longer period of time by the product manufacturer so maybe customer service can tell you Because once I got my truck back from the dealer and he left paper work in my truck with all the brake downs of the time warranty on the parts on the truck found that very interesting also it said on the paper for only dealer eyes on the front

So I went ahead and purchased a pair of the aftermarket sport LED taillights. I do have to say these are in every way identical to the factory Mopar ones. Other then it missing the Mopar logo they are exactly the same. I paid $300 for the pair delivered, the Mopar ones are over $420 a pair. Whats everyone's thoughts? Here are some pics.
