It is a proven fact that leds do not work in projector headlights. They might look bright, but do not have the high beam range of stock halogens. Hids are the best route to go with his projectors. But a quality led like the Supernova V-3 works great in the fogs.

I have LEDs in my aftermarket projector headlights. They are dangerously dim at night. Especially without any foglights like on my truck. Please advise him to get HID, not LED headlight bulbs.

Hopefully he will take the proven HID advice in my above post. :)

Technology is evolving. When LED comes on vehicles OEM it's no longer a proven fact.

What car comes with a round projector with LEDs in it? The problem with LEDs in a round projector is that LEDs are surface mounted on boards. They are too directional. You get all sorts of funky patterns and poor output.

There are cars with projector style headlights with leds such as Mercedes. But they aren't round lenses.

Headlightrevoloution has a great video on YouTube showing this.

That being said, I have all supernova v3s in my quads, highs and lows and fogs. When I save up and buy projectors I will be going hids all the way. Hid projectors I have had in other cars put these lights to shame. Imo

I'm not a fan of HIDs at all. But, seems that at the moment, if you want projectors HID is the only way to go. I had factory HIDs in the Mazda, and they were excellent. Since I sold it to my brother, he's had to replace one of the bulbs, and come to find out, they're rather expensive. Not sure which way I'll go as yet, as it usually depends on price and availability when I get the $ together.

You are missing the point here. We are talking about leds in projector lights that come with halogen bulbs. I do agree that some leds are bright, like my KC Highlight off road lights with their G6 leds instead of the 130 watt halogen bulb.

I get the point you were trying to make it's just evolving from fact to fiction.

Actually they have LED bulbs now for projector headlights now. It's the hot spot that was a problem before. The new designs are mimicking the halogen light throw with the increase output led lights provide.

What is certain is LED isn't going anywhere and will be the standard for the future

Do you have a link to these new leds?

These leds are still side firing, so they will not work as good as a halogen or hid that has light coming out the front of the buld.
