It is a build code activation that has to be added to your Vin number you have to have a special access to do so when you’re in dealer connect and you click on the service tab it is under the warranty administration’s and I believe it is called vehicle build update maybe. If you do not have access to this you can send me your Vin number and I can make the appropriate changes then all you have to do is a vehicle reconfiguration On witech
It’s called vehicle option updates, I don’t have it. Are you able to add LEDs to my fog build and somehow help to disable my rear 3rd brake light (or at least the bulb out warning)?

You can do it easily with alfaobd, I set mine and they work great with no more PWM

Yes all I would need is the last 8 of your vin. Then you would need to do a Vehicle restore with witech

I have morimoto 35watt HIDs in mine and I love em. I just did away with the relay harness and resistors on mine by activating HIDs on my alfaobd. Now it's just ballasts and ignitors. Was able to get rid of the resistors on my morimoto fogs as well. Was running 55watt ballasts and had nothing but problems with those and the relay harness was the kit came with.

Simple, possibly idiotic question. Instead of buying alfaobd and doing it myself can I have the dealership update my fogs to LED after I install my BajaDesigns?

You can try. Some dealers won't do it at all. Some will charge you ($150 or more). And you'll have to pay every time you want to switch something. Having the dealer do it is a horrible option. Find a person ion your Santa Barbara area who can do this for you.

Ya, Figures. Thanks, I live out in Santa Barbara CA which usually causes a problem with finding support. Im a few weeks away from switching out tires/lights so Ill have to start attacking it then. Or man up and do it myself. :boxing:

I was somewhat apprehensive about using AlfaOBD too, but it’s easy to use and there’s plenty of support here to walk you thru anything.

Sounds like a pretty cool thing but if you’re driving a 2018 and up, and are under warranty, you gotta buy that security bypass cable that’s behind the Uconnect screen, for it to be able to talk to your computer. And if you ever need warranty or recall work, you gotta hook the security module back up in order for the dealer’s computer to be able to talk to your truck. Seems like too much work to me.

The’19s don’t use the Security Bypass module behind the Uconnect screen. They use a bypass wiring harness that goes under the dashboard near where the OBDII module plugs into. Pretty easy to install. Even with the tazer ram plugged in, the OBDII port is still open for the dealership to plug their unit into. What I need to know is what they enter their PIN into so that I can change my tpms settings.
