There's no snow here where I live in the high desert of Arizona but it's 20 - 30 at night and that's too much for me. I think I should have moved south instead of west when I left NY.

Your right - no wood these days. Calling them boards is common though, name just sticks with me because they were wood back in the early days I guess.

Guess it's just us older guys that still use the term running boards.

I think he’s just being pedantic a lot of people call them running boards still.

Besides if I call them running boards, you know what I’m talking about and if I call them side steps you know what I’m talking about.

In my mind they’re actually two separate products.
