Ok im looking at painting my chrome bumpers black to "black out" the truck.
Can any of you that have painted your bumpers post them up and maybe a to do list on how you did it.

Are you wanting to color match them or just have them black? I know a lot of the guys here use plastidip and it turns out pretty sweet.

But if you're wanting color matched, then you will need to prep it accordingly for it to stick to the chrome

I know a lot of members have bedlined their bumpers, someone recently painted theirs black on a 4th gen but I cant remember who...

Needs to be prepped right or you will be redoing it soon

A shop that tells you that you can just scuff and primer over the chrome is a shop that shouldn't get your business.

You've got to really remove the chrome so that the primer will get a good bite. If you only want it to look good for a year or two, the above shop might be ok.
(I've got a close friend in the body business)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Now back to the bumpers...
Im realy torn with this one,i love the all black sport model look.
However i eally do like my chrome slt look as well.
I have read a bunch of threads all threw the web on the plasti-dip,and bed liner and if i had a 4x4 i would probably go that route.
But i would love to see pics of either plasti-dip or painted to somewhat help me make up my mind.
Either wa i have to replace my grille[crack] and possibly my front bumper[smalldent].
