Hey all, back on the forum after taking a few years off due to not owning a Ram. But back in the Ram game as of a few weeks ago. This is my new 2018 4x4 Big Horn. I plan on doing a jack of all type truck (commuting, towing, mild over-landing) rig.

As far as the suspension, so far I’ve done the carli leveling kit with fox 2.0 shocks. Wheels/ tire combo is method nv 17x8.5 0mm offset with 35x12.5 Nitto ridge grapplers. Very happy with how this has turned out so far. I might look into sway bars later.

My question is for you guys running non factory rear airbags, I like the benefit of airbags while towing, but don’t like the limited travel while off-roading. Do any of you have experience with the day star airbag cradles? That seems to be the only fix I’ve come across for this problem. Also air lift vs Firestone/ what’s everyone’s preferred system?

I’ve never been into naming my vehicles but I think I’m going to name this truck Apollo/ Project Apollo :patriot:

I’ve never had crazy flex in any of these trucks but for air bags I’ve always had air lift ones. I’m just not sure how they travel much the way they are designed

I ended up going the air lift route and I also ordered the cradles. I have not installed the cradles yet. From what I’ve seen you need to drill and tap a hole on the bump stop perch on the axle. Time wasn’t on my side when installing. Before I go on an off-road trip I’ll put the cradles on.

Here is how I did the daystar/airlift setup on my power wagon. Its been 2 1/2 years roughly and its been working flawlessly.
