So i have a 02 dodge ram 1500 4.7 4wd and my rack and pinion went out 2 weeks ago out of know where, the driver boot was floaded with fluid and there was a hole In it so it was pouring everywhere, I had it replaced and it was working for 7 days today I was backing up and as I turned the wheel all the way to the right it started making the same loud noise it did a week ago when it went out, drove it about half a mile parked it and looked under to find both boots were leaking out of the seals so i know it went out again, I did get a remanufactured one from autozone with a lifetime warranty but heard they are cheap and won't last as I seen first had, how ever what might have caused this to go bad again?? I do have a leveling kit that was installed by a shop with shocks and all, but I also just put some 35" nitto trail grapplers on 18" rims on I would say about a month before it went out the first time. Some say its the lift some say its the oversized tires, others think its just a bad rack, any thoughts?? I need help!
