Leveling kit question

I bought a 2 inch Pro Comp leveling kit. It's actually only a 1 1/8inch spacer. I called the shop I got it from, they said a 1 inch spacer will give me a 2 inch lift..
This doesn't sound right, could someone explain it to me?

I have a procomp 2.5in leveling spacer, yes that is correct you only need about an inch on the spacer to give you 2in of lift

Your suspension doesn't need to travel 2" for the wheels to travel 2". Think of it like a lever.
