So i have a 2011 1500 outdoorsman and am trying to decide which lift to go with. I have talked to diff lift companies and no one has given me a straight answer on what will fit the outdoorsman FOR SURE?? Anyone have any knowledge on which ones will or will not work. Dont want the cheapest lift out there but money is not in a huge abundance...any ideas thanks guys.

Outdoorsman are supposed to be .7" taller than a normal 4x4 4th gen, but they also have a smaller tire (I think it's 32.2" vs. 33" with the 20s) so it really doesn't look any bigger. I've read about people that have lifted them, I'm trying to come back across that info.

98% sure that it is just a different strut an no other front end difference

I agree on this one the strut makes the lift difference and it notes this in Bilstein instructions. I assume the only reason the tires are a bit smaller is they are 17 inch LT wranglers instead of the P series 20's that others come with.

I have read on some of the lift companies websites that their lift will NOT work due to the TRX front struts but they say if you swap our the TRX/Outdoorsman struts to a regular strut, the lift will go in fine.

My suggestion would be that since most lifts do not level the truck, put in Bilstein 5100s when you do the lift. Everything will work together AND your truck will be level.

Example: my truck had a 3" stock rake. I got a 6" BDS lift with a 5" rear kit. After my lift was installed, I still had a 2" rake. I then put in Bilsteins at 2.1" and my truck is very close to be being level now. I wish I had done the Bilsteins when I put the lift in, it would have saved me the extra work and paying for 2 alignments instead of 1.

This is accurate.
The outdoorsman is what used to be the TRX package.
Bilstein 5100's have the 2.8" setting for the TRX shocks because they are set .7 higher than the stock regular shock housings. Normally the 5100's only go up to 2.1" but since you have the option to go higher then everyone always does.

As far as. A lift goes, they say it doesn't fit because they can't garuantee there parts with the added stress of the extra .7" of lift from the TRX struts on there components, And the fact that it will throw there geometry in there suspension system off with the added height. It's no different from all the guys running a 6" lift with bilsteins at 2.8" extra. It's just extra height in the lift. They say not to do it for there own lawsuit protection.

Thanks for the input guys...so RCX says that the trx should go with a 4" lift and they will then achieve roughly 5" of lift...so that foes the same for my truck too? I may ound like im beating a dead horse just want to double check everything?? And doe you know if the RCX is traction control/stability control compatible??

all the ESC controls are speed sensor based so yes they will work.

all the companies ive seen say if you have a TRX (outdoorsman) then its best to go with there 4" to achieve the 5" total lift. just to be safe. if you installed a 6" itll go to 7" and there engineers say thats too much strain on the CV and other components. I agree with that as they are already extended from stock anyway.
