Hello yall,

I currently own a 2017 Ram 1500 5.7l 2wd single cab short bed that currently sits on a 2/4 drop and 22ich wheels, i had my fun with it being a pavement princess and want to start taking it on some light trails. As I'm looking for some suspension options I realize that there is not a lot of lift kits out there made specifically for this type of set up (most of them being for 4wd applications) but I did come across this kit from BDS Suspension that is supposedly for 4wd set ups only but as I'm looking through what comes in this kit i see that it only includes the Fox 2.0 coil overs and the 2 rear shocks as well as 2 aftermarket upper control arms.
I know that kits made for 4wd are very different since they have to take into consideration that the front tires more therefore there is a lot more components in front but,
Am I able to run this kit on my set up? If not, do you guys have any suggestions for lift kits? I dont want the baja prerunner built but i do want to be able to take it for some offroading here and there

Im not fully in tune with the 2 by 4’s, but dont they have coil springs up front? I dont think those coilovers will bolt in at all.

Doesn't matter how much lift and what tires you use, when it comes to mud and rocks 2WD is only going to get you so far. If I had a 2wd and wanted to have some fun off-road, I'll look into a prerunner set up. Not sure what there is on the market for that but that could give you some more direction as far as what you're trying to achieve with your build.

No you can't use that kit on a 2X4.The 4X4's use a strut and spring assembly that mounts above the upper arm, while the 2X4's use a coil spring in a pocket under the upper arm with the shock in the center of that pocket.
As Big stated above, you're better off looking at 2 wheel drive lift spindles

If you want to go off roading even lightly go on facebook buy a cheap higher mileage 4th gen or 3rd gen with 4x4 and use it as a beater its a waste of money to lift a 2wd vehicle hence why there is not many kits to do so.
