I'm not sure if not being able to manually compress a shock equates to it being too stiff. I do agree ride comfort is a matter of perspective. My Bilsteins do feel like what Ricks Ram describes, but to a significantly lesser degree (I don't feel like the rear of my truck is going to bounce out from under me). I have been contemplating trying out the NX2 shocks that came with the kit or looking into a Timbren suspension enhancement.

edit: It looks like Air Lift has a bunch of universal type applications for their 1000 series bags. I wonder if this will help firm up my ride a big (and assist me when towing my side by side or when loaded up with camping gear)...

https://www.airliftcompany.com/workshop/air-lift-1000-universal-air-spring-kit/

I have the airlift1000HD in my coils and I haul about 500-800lbs per week with about 3/4-1” squat at 30lbs filled.

Long story short, the ride can be extremely stiff. So, it’s worth a try for you for only $120

I agree with Dalton. I have stock rear suspension and I run about 10 psi all the time just to firm up the wallow feeling out back. They are cheap and easy to install to existing suspension.

Anyone use them on a Zone / BDS lifted truck? I wonder about fatiguing the springs that are not supported by the bags themselves. Seems that portion of the spring would be "working" extra hard.

Do they make taller bags for our lifted coil height?

I couldn't find a universal kit that is tall enough. Obligatory picture of squatting truck:

So you put the Billies at 2.1+the 6” spacer on top of them?

The BDS kit reuses the factory strut assembly with a small pre-load spacer in it. I had the shop put in Bilsteins set at 2.1" instead of the preloaded factory strut assembly.

That spacer is only 1/2", maybe 5/8"? and it's a preload spacer not a top mount spacer, it doesn't push the entire shock assembly down in the same fashion a top strut spacer will + 2 of lift via billies, what did you do 4" spacer with billies at 2.1 then ?, but with the front drop for 6" ?

You can run the bils at max with a 6" lift kit so you get closer to 7-8" of lift, no difference than a stock truck running the bils at 2.75 as far as CV/steering angles etc

This. Only my Billys are adjusted to 2.1 instead of the max 2.8. With the 5" rear springs, the truck sits even. Looking into a Timber Grove airbag kit to address the squat when towing or packed with camping gear- It would allow me to empty the bag when the truck is not loaded up and / or when off roading with no load. I was surprised to see an application for BDS lifted trucks on their website!

That’s a nice truck, what rear shocks do you have?

A bit of the problem when towing is it actually lifts the front of the truck higher in conjunction with lowering the rear. Its like a double wammy lol. Were you using a weight distribution hitch with that travel trailer?
