I've got a 2016 1500 crew cab without projector headlights. I've noticed the stock headlights are not bright enough for me. Neither are the hi beams. I'm looking to put in more powerful, or brighter bulbs to increase the light output. I drive on a lot of dark country road. Just wondering if anyone knows, or has had experience with upgrading the bulbs. I would be curious if there is any "plug and play" options. Something quick and easy. Thanks to all.

Several threads on this already, but it can be a lot of reading. I think the easiest and cheapest option is what I am about to do for my 2016 with quad halogens: standard Philips h9 bulbs to replace the h11 low beams and 9011 bulbs to replace the high beams. The majority of people who do this swap, not just on Rams, report that it is noticeable and worthwhile. I got all four bulbs for $46. Google search h11 to h9 conversion. I have the modified bulbs, but haven't installed them yet.
A bigger upgrade would be to convert to projector assemblies and add a quality HID kit to that, but that is a lot more $$$. After all the stuff I read, I think I would do TYC projectors and Morimoto 5500k/35W HIDs. And don't forget, just changing the color to whiter(bluer) light doesn't equal more light or longer sight distance.
Just to be clear, I am the opposite of an expert. My only experience is modifying my new bulbs (not installed yet). I'm just someone in the same position as you trying to save you the time of reading all that stuff.

Since you drive a lot of dark country roads then I would suggest a quality LED light bar.

People upgrade their headlights and honestly they just end up blinding the **** out of everyone on the road.

A good light bar is definitely an option.

People only blind others when they improperly attempt to upgrade their headlights, like throwing LED "bulbs" into halogen reflectors. You don't want to be that guy (I hope). Improperly modified lights aren't blinding because there's too much light, it's because it isn't focused properly. It used to be tuner cars with HID kits, now it's lifted trucks with LEDs. Stick to the type of light source your lamps are designed for and you'll be good.
