Anyone running or looked at the Cooper Discoverer A/TW? Curious how they perform on slick/icy roads and how they hold up (mileage) during the rest of the year.

Iv LOOKED at them (ATW) at a local Belle Tire. as well as the AT3. I read a lot of great reviews on the for 1/2 ton trucks. as for looks, they look great and the tread is deceivingly deep and more aggressive in person. the ATW looks like it would be an excellent snow tire for the road as well as minor off roading. the AT3 is basically the same thing just oriented to normal "A/T" use vs a dedicates snow tire like the ATW.

Id do the AT3 if I was leaving them on year round. i saw plenty of 1/2 ton truck pics of guys going through 10"+ of fresh snow on the road with the AT3.

they are a top option for my wife's next tires...if the toyo a/t's (gen 1) ever wear out...LOL

JMO, no actual driving experiance with them

Same here, by any sane standards they are very aggressive. Have you installed/used the tires yet?

I have had them installed for about 10k miles so far. They have a slight hum which was expected. They seem to be wearing incredibly well, but mines a 1500. I have no doubt that they would last on a 2500/3500 though. I haven't really had a chance yet to try out off-road or snow

I had Cooper AT3's on my 1500. They were awesome. I could go places in 2wd when I would have needed 4x4 with my previous BFG's.

The only reason I didn't get them for my 3500 is because a good friend of mine only gets about 25-30k out of them on his 2500 Cummins.

I just replaced my 35in BFG TA MTs for some Toyo open county AT2s. My new truck feels like a new truck again. the BFGs were loud and rough riding.

Just ordered a set of 285/75/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W.

Father in law runs the AT3's on his 2nd Gen dually but has had issues with the outside tread cupping.

Ran General Grabber AT2's on my old half ton but the largest they come in are 285/70/17 which I think still looks a hair small on a crew cab long bed.

Looking forward to your impressions of these tires. They were on my shortlist before I was derailed by nobody wanting to install a 124 load index tire on my truck.

There will be a thread or post of these for sure.

I have yet to have a shop up this way say they can't/won't install larger than OE spec tires.

Oe spec is 125, atleast on my 16 it is, but discount tire was willing to put a 124 on if I wanted

Michelin and BFG will get you the most miles. Proven time and time again they wear the best all other factors the same. I also find they get less flats. I have ran BFG pretty much exclusively on all my vehicles many of them E rated despite not having a an HD. I do often load well probably overload my 1500 and they have always done well. I realize the HD is harder on tires but I got 77k out of the last set of BFG AT KO and seem to be on pace to meet or beat that with my BFG AT KO2 both load range E.

Funny, my E load range KO2's wore very quickly. Would have been lucky to get more than 20k out of them. Other than that they were great tires.

My dad ran KO2's on his 03 RAM 2500 gasser for it's entire life, nearly 400k miles, and would routinely get 80k+ out of them. He got some Trail Grapplers this time around on his new 2015 2500, we'll see how long they last.

Correct on the OE spec, even if there's absolutely 0 reason a 2500 class truck needs tires with that much load carrying ability. Down here in FL, Discount wouldn't order them. They also wouldn't install them if I brought them in. Tire Kingdom wouldn't order them for me either. I could have gone over to 4 Wheel Parts I suspect, but it's a hike for me and in a ****** area of town that I don't like to go to. So I tried the Trail Hogs.

Are you sure it wasn't the T/A KO he ran? The KO2 wasn't released until the end of 2014.

Cooper ST Maxx 35x12.5r20 mounted on Centerline Grizzly rims. I know nobody does polished rims these days but I'm old/old school and still not sold on the whole black rims matter thing.

Considering Michelin makes/owns BFG, it makes sense.

Still think I have decided on the GY Duratrac for my truck in the next few months.

Damn! That's a great looking combination. Did you get those local, from a national chain or online?

Anyone have long term experience with Hankook Dynapro ATM? I run 25-30k miles a year on my truck, not much offroad. Some light (@ 5k #'s) towing. I'm considering these and the Michelin LTX AT2.

I just ordered some 37x12.5r18 Terra Grappler G2's, they're E rated and have a 128 load index. My dad has the same ones in 295/70r18 and he likes them a lot, they're not loud at all. And I have heard from everyone running the G2's that they wear great.
