if so, it wont be a problem because i have a welder and a sawzaw.

i just need to know in advance what i need to do.

I installed them on my 05 quad cab and had to cut one small piece. It's a tab on the tranny that's in the way... not hard to cut at all and wont affect anything. That was it. I'll find you a DIY here in a sec.

By collector do you mean the catalytic converter? If so, you'll have to have them moved back to install the headers. The long tubes by name, push the cats back farther. So they need to be relocated by an exhaust shop, or you if you weld.

Might as well buy the off road Y kit while your at it to speed up fab time. Your exhaust will be close to mine only difference would be if you keep the cats.

They have a 3" collector, the stock manifolds have a 2.5" collector from what I recall, I cut the tab off with a hacksaw, and I love my Pacesetters, I got the Armor Coat and had a full custom exhaust built off of them. I wouldn't trade them for anything. :)

well i plan on going to oreily or something and getting a short section of 2.5inch pipe and welding it in place of the cats just as a quick fix, then maybe over time, i'll go to a full 3 inch exhaust if there is enough room.

also, would it be too hard to weld this all with a stick welder? thats what i have

Get the off road Y and it will slip together and buy the wide band clamps. The only part that I needed welded was the first elbow on the driver side under my door because of how it turned and had a slight leak.

here is my pacesetters LT. the cat IN/Out pipe is 2.5in i believe. Where the LT out pipe is 3inches. my exhaust guy was able to widen the cats so that i did not have to buy new ones.
I also bought the off road Y pipe. made install go alot faster.

just make sure to get new OEM exhaust manifold gaskets and new grade 8 header bolts.

Like mentioned, the Pacesetter Y-pipe is definately the way to go unless you are going to have a true dual exhaust fabbed up. Your factory exhaust is 3" as well, so all you have to do is install the headers/y-pipe, and then cut the factory exhaust where the Pacesetter y-pipe ends. Then you can either weld or clamp it on. Everything else with the headers and Y are clamp on, so welding is an option, but not required.

Keep your cats on hand if you dont install them. If you do straight all the way back out to the hallow glasspacks it might have a weird drone or popping sound. If so you can either swap out the mufflers or toss on the cats widened out.

Make sure you grab some Mopar gaskets when you do the install and far as the header bolts go you can go with grade 8 bolts with locking washers (what I have), go with Stage 8 locking header bolts (what a few guys on here have) or new 6.1 exhuast manifold bolts (Danny is going to use those and we use those at the shop)
