Looking for a 1st Gen

Hi all. I sold my 3500 in January and am looking for an occasional use truck as my primary transport is a car now (man needs a truck right?).

I have $8000 to spend and from what I can tell that should get me a good but not perfect truck. I am going 4x4, gas and preferably manual tranny. My feeling is if the body is good and is mechanically sound I can deal with other issues.

I am going to look at one tomorrow that fits this description but has weak brakes and needs weather striping. They are asking $8500 for it. Does this sound in line? From my research it seems like you can get a good truck for this but they all have some issues to solve.

THEY ALL Have issues.
WEAK BRAKES MEANS NOTHING TO ME. JUST FIX THEM & Move on.
Electricial ... where P.O. HAS done his wiring tricks scare me most.
Alignment can all be replaced one item at a time .. Most of it is not bad all at the same time. & Lots of old chassis part are better than today new stuff.
Trans issues are scary on old trucks.
