You don't NEED the y pipe, but it is fairly cheap, and in my opinion is the biggest upgrade you can do to the truck exhaust wise and performance wise. I mean the y pipe in there is like a pinched off zit...if you just want sound, and aren't pushing for the most performance just get the mufflex muffler you want, get it installed and call it a day. I mean the mufflex will also add some better flow as well compared to the stock muffler
i cant find a picture of the stock exhaust and i havent been under my own truck yet. im thinking it will be cheaper and better performance wise to get the y-pipe and the muffler and get a shop to weld it together.
can you tell me what inlets and outlets i need for both the y-pipe and the muffler (its going to be hooked up to the stock exhuast)
edit. the reviews on the mufflex on this forum makes it pretty tempting, now i gotta decide if i wanna just do the mufflex and get mostly a noise upgrade or do like i stated above and get both hmm. IS the y-pipe bolted on? of will that have to be cut off and a new one welded on
sorry for the questions, if i had a visual i cwould know lol
