I've got a 2019 RAM 2500 Laramie 4x4 with the 8ft box and I'd like to locate some cheap 17" steel wheels for winter use up here in north Idaho. I'm having a hell of a time locating any. When I find some that supposedly matches the bolt pattern the site tells me it isn't compatible or won't fit and or are 16" and not what I'm looking for.

I could use some help with winter fast approaching. I could also use some confirmation on whether 16" wheels would fit? I know the power wagon has 17" wheels correct?

Try a company I used for my winter wheels…..Wheels America. They sell refurbished and new. Mine were absolutely perfect. Easy process and reasonable prices.
Awesome I'll check them out! Maybe I need four spares. LOL

16s won't fit over the brake caliper
The Power Wagon does have 17s,but they are aluminum, except for the spare

Thank you for confirming.

Try looking for 18”s. They’re far more common. Also, studded Hakka LT3 will grip to any type of ice! You can see the rear caliper is quite close to the stock 18” steel rim. Check the local classifieds and marketplace for someone selling these.IMG_2765.jpeg

OP: Look here. Not sure they have what U need but maybe another place/source for info. I do not know your bolt pattern, etc, so U would have to peruse a lil.

There are plenty of people selling take-offs for a reasonable price on ebay and craigslist

Just search your area.

How are Cooper Snow Claws versus the Nokians?
The coopers will be good. But if there’s ever a time to spend a little more $$ it on winters. You can still slide around on the studded LT3, but everything will happen in slow motion. You will easily be able to recover and grip.

I found some 18" on eBay I'm considering! Thank you.

FYI, when I bought my Warlock, I found several deals from different suppliers but none compared to the price from the dealership where I bought my truck.

I paid $60 each for 17" 5-bolt OEM steel rims. In my travels to find rims, I found 18" 6-bolt for close to the same price from another FCA dealership.

When I say found, I had them in hand when they were ordered by a local shop and I looked and said those are 6-bolt, not 5-bolt as I had instructed.

Maybe it was a passing thing but dealerships don't want to be stuck with too many takeoffs either. It might be worth asking.

from what i seem to recall .....

What size rims on a 2019 RAM 2500?

17-20″ diameter, 7.5-8″ width
2019 RAM 2500 / Wheel size

What size rims go on the RAM 2500?
The RAM 2500 comes with a range of stock rim sizes, including 17-inch rims, 18-inch rims and 20-inch rims.
Those sizes are wildly popular for both work trucks, personal pickups and off-road rigs.

18" rims, i think would be best
18" tires are quite easy to find, they seem to be the most popular for Off Roading

During my rim search in January '22, a 6-bolt hub configuration, like on the 2500's, is strictly available on 18" rims.

And the 5-bolt hubs, like on my Warlock, were only available on 17" rims.

Unless, those flavors were different in 2019.

2500s and up use 8 bolt lug rims.
With aftermarket rims both 5 and 6 bolt lugs should be available in 17" and 18" rims

I didn't know about 8-bolt hubs on the 2500s. Were the OEM 8-bolt available on 17" & 18" rims?

While the aftermarket rims might be available for a price, would they still qualify as cheap steel wheels, like in the title of this thread?

When I was looking specifically for OEM 5-bolt rims for my Warlock, I could only find 17" rims. And anything from the aftermarket was much more expensive. Maybe, the US market is different than Canada.

I think all the 2500 and up have used 8 bolt patterns for decades, they even cam in 16" flavor also.

No Dodge 2500 ever came with 6 bolts rims, going back to at least 1985. The 1500s had 5 bolts rims until recently, when they went to 6 bolt. Take off OEM rims in 17" and 18" are really easy to come by on Kijiji here in Alberta. Off Road tires for 17 and 18" are WAY cheapper than 20 or 22 and there is a lot better selection. Bought a set of 20" in perfect shape for my wife's Jeep last fall, OEM Aluminum for $450. Her vehicle basically has pavement tires on it as it never goes off road, so finding winter tires was easy, got a great Deal on a sale at Canadian tire on Michelin Ice 265-55R-20, $350 a skin.

I went 2 Tire Rack on line and purchased 4 wheels and Blizzack DMV-2 snows for my 2016 Laramie Longhorn for < $800 mounted, balanced, and delivered...
