Hi,

my tran cooler is leaking and my lines are rusty.

So it's replacement time.

Any larger tran coolers or manufacturer of lines that are 'must' haves?

Thanks

Alex

Not really. Good factory replacement lines and a 1 ton hemi trans cooler will all be bolt ins and work great.

Thanks for the info.

I ordered a pair of Dorman replacement lines.

Do I require special tools to remove the lines from the transmission cooler and the transmission? Standard wrenches?

Thanks

Alex

From the trans yes, for the cooler you need the quick disconnect tool. You can see the hex heads on the cooler lines circled in orange.

Hi

Two local transmission shops are estimating three hours to change the two cooler lines and the transmission cooler.

Does that sound right?

Probably not far off, the hardest parts of this will be snaking the old lines out and snaking the new ones in. The cooler itself unbolts and comes right out and the new one will go in just as easy.

Well The job didn’t go well.

I took the upper transmission line off and went to install the new Dorman one and they’re completely different.

I checked the parts number and contacted Dorman and they’re telling me it’s the right line.

I think they’re pretty far off.

I have a dealer one coming tomorrow morning and I’m going to compare them.
