I have a 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 TRX4. I have an issue with the driver's window being loose and wobbly. Not terribly bad, but enough to be annoying when driving down the road over any kind of bumps and you hear the window rattling right in your ear. When the window is all the way up, it's fine.

Is this a matter of just being slightly out of its track? Something wrong with the track mechanism itself? I guess I'm asking how to begin troubleshooting this. I would think at the very least I should take off the inner door panel and investigate, obviously - but is this common or have a relatively common fix? It's been this way for about 4 years and hasn't gotten any worse, I'm just getting around to DIY'ing different things in my truck.

Someone probably changed the window regulator at some point could be a loose bolt or just a broke/cheap regulator only way to tell is to take the door panel off and have a look

I don't know about your vehicle, but window tracts sometimes have a felt liner that fits inside of the tract

I had some time today to check this out. The window pane itself is actually firmly secure in the regulator. There appears to be a felt strip of some kind or some thick black material to hold the base of the window in the arm of the regulator. There is no wiggle room whatsoever.

However, I noticed the regulator "arm" itself has some play wiggling front to back. I'm talking about the flat piece the window drops down onto. It makes me feel like the loose window is from the regulator itself. It is bolted in properly in every place, as far as I can see without actually removing it.

Strange thing is, when I put everything back together the window didn't wiggle as much, barely at all, until I started moving it up and down a few times and drove for a couple miles.

I'm wondering if its possible that there might be some weatherstripping stuff missing in the actual door that the window slides in. Seems like it keeps it held in place tightly, and maybe there's a section missing near the top and that's why it wobbles in that region.
