@ Cruizer...finally found the paint code for the lower tone (Gold Rush Pearl code yk/jyk)...might have to get some mixed up and play with it a bit.

I've been toying with the idea of doing my grille and bumpers with color matched raptor liner since I bought my truck. Looks awesome! Thanks for helping me make up my mind. Any tips on shooting it?

Thanks for the kind words, atticusfaul. Two of the more interesting things to play with are psi and spray distance. On the first two passes I would lower the psi to around 80-85 and spray from about 2 feet away or so...I was going for bigger chunks for a base. The next few passes, I would turn the psi up to about 110-ish and then spray from about a foot away. This would lay in the smoother texture on top. I would give it about 5-10 minutes between passes so the air compressor didn't blow the texture around. Other than that, I would recommend putting your prep time in...I probably went a little overboard on the sanding, but I just wanted to be thorough. Most of the research I did talked about lightly scuffing the surface with scratch pads...I used 80 grid sandpaper and a hand sander. Once I went over the entire surface, I would clean with denatured alcohol and then go back over with 120 grit by hand.

Give me a shout when you knock yours out, I would really like to see your end result.

So...I stopped in to the local dealer today because they finally got the parts for the rear diff recall and I ended up selling Louie. One of the sales guys and I got to talking while I was waiting and they offered a price that I just couldn't refuse. Traded him for Louie 2.0, a 2014 Laramie Longhorn....I have never seen so many dang buttons in my life!!!!
