Thanks for the kind words, atticusfaul. Two of the more interesting things to play with are psi and spray distance. On the first two passes I would lower the psi to around 80-85 and spray from about 2 feet away or so...I was going for bigger chunks for a base. The next few passes, I would turn the psi up to about 110-ish and then spray from about a foot away. This would lay in the smoother texture on top. I would give it about 5-10 minutes between passes so the air compressor didn't blow the texture around. Other than that, I would recommend putting your prep time in...I probably went a little overboard on the sanding, but I just wanted to be thorough. Most of the research I did talked about lightly scuffing the surface with scratch pads...I used 80 grid sandpaper and a hand sander. Once I went over the entire surface, I would clean with denatured alcohol and then go back over with 120 grit by hand.
