Just picked up my truck from the local garage. Had my Magnaflow and Y pipe installed. I stayed with the SI/SO for now. Sounds good, only a little louder and a bit more throat! Had him leave the resonator in for now, jury still out on wether to remove it or not.
Cost for welding $100. I think he did a good job. Here are some Pics:

I've got the same SI SO set up. I was thinking swapping the muffler too or swapping it all for a dual cat back.

I like the sound just not sure about the volume. I may have the resonator cut out.

Yea, this is something you either have to get use to or as you said, remove the resonator :boxed:

Just finished first Highway run with new exhaust. No drone issues and still a pleasant sound!

I love my 18" Maggy. I have the Mufflex kit with the factory dual exhaust, and this simple mod really made my truck sound like a V8! With the 3.92 gears, I'm right around 1700-1800RPM on the highway at 100km/h, and there is very little to no drone, and it just sounds beautiful when I step on it. Can't go wrong with the 18"

The Magnaflow muffler should break in some and get a bit louder and deeper after a couple thousand miles (not sure, some have said 10% others say 30% I don't have mine on yet)...so if not satisfied with sound now maybe in a month you will be.

This is all good info. My Gibson catback is finally starting to show it's age and I've been thinking about the Mag 18".

So its been 2 weeks since I had my install done. I mentioned that I left the resonator in and was going to drive it for a while to decide whether(never confuse this word with wether, the later is a castrated RAM) to remove it or not. I have decided to leave it in for now. The truck has the deep throaty sound I was looking(listening?) for and not too loud. Happy Happy Happy!!! :waytogo:

Awesome! I'm really glad you like yours. Especially since my 18" is going on tomorrow, so this has made me even more excited to get it installed. Thanks so much for posting your experience with the mod, it's really helped me out!

Hopefully come the end of the week I'll be just as happy with mine :party36:
