Ok kinda a long story, I let my bro in law borrow my truck the other day to pick up a skid loader and he has zero experience pulling heavy equipment, today my wife used the truck as her daily driver and I had to pick up my 28' trailer from the dealer anyway I was backing up,my trailer I had the truck in 4 hi but when I gave it some juice to get up over the curb the tranny blew a big cloud of white smoke out the vent on the bottom, I've never experienced this before pulling or backing my trailer but today I could smell something weird anyway if that makes any sence what could it be the truck drives great there's no slip and the clutch works great.

thanks,

Slipping the clutch, my girlfriend backs her horse trailer up her driveway in 4 low as it's up hill and has a slight bend in it

I would venture to guess your BIL wasn't using first to pull out

G56 clutch are at about here limit wih how much power they have bone stock
They are also known to warp the flex plate with to much slipping
