I have 2009 dodge ram 1500 5.7 4x4, I been having this problem where everything time I turn it on and it stay on park or neutral, it revs on its own and then it turns off after a while. I tried checking for any leaks and I found none. I also tried a new throttle body and that still didn’t work. What do y’all think it could be

No codes?? Check the MAP Sensor. I kept the OEM EFI. Modified but the concept is the same. A bad MAP for the Gen2 (2009 is almost the same concept) is usually good voltage, but a stuck Kpg. If low, it’s lean and won’t add or remove fuel so you get a idle issue and it dies. A high pressure is easier because you get the same idle issue but rich. You can see and smell that. The TPS is internal on the TB. Unplug the map. If nothing changes…..get a new one. And not a cheap China **** or you’ll be changing out again sooner. Another would be a fuel pressure test. I think the 2009 has a Schrader valve on the fuel rail as a test port.

I have a snap on computer that tests and records a movie. I assume you don’t have that….so……………… Test the fuel press at the rail.
O2 open / closed loop. When engine warms up, does it then go nuts< problem starts.
Air temp sensor, unplug. You should get a code.
Check engine ECT- Coolant sensor.
Then….. crank sensor and cam sensors. I believe the engine has individual coils. A misfire would push a code. The last is each fuel injector.
Unplugging the map sensor should shut down or be a big change. That part you changed might be bad. Don’t feel bad, I get the lifetime warranty and keep the box with the place I bought it from. My shelf is littered with them……

And…..the multi Displacement sol fails around 100k. That’s a start. There are better and smarter people that might know more and can help. If nothing works, check for a short.

And…….the evap pump and canister will cause a stall. That. Issue is easier to diagnose especially after a fill up.
