Are different Microfiber towels REALLY that different?
I'm gathering all my washing and detailing supplies for when it gets warm and I see Microfiber towels, Microfiber soft polish towel, Microfiber wash towel, Microfiber Dry towel, Microfiber sponge, Microfiber wax towel, Microfiber wash mitt, Microfiber auto clothes, etc, etc...Are they all basically the same thing? lol

Honestly, buy an Adams towel and find out! They have a 110% guarantee you'll love it. They'll even pay to have it shipped back!!! What the heck do you have to lose?

Since they're a vendor here, use the code and get 10% off.

The rule of thumb is, if they have a tag on the towel they're not meant for paint. Test a towel with a CD OR DVD. Rub the towel on one and look at it under a bright light. Did it scratch? Any of the ones Ive bought from the big box stores scratched. Adams won't scratch. When you hold it in your hands, you'll understand the difference immediately!

I could spend hours typing out the right and wrong way to wash and dry a car is. Keep in mind, 95% of fine scratches you see in your paint are put there when washing and drying. If you are truly wanting to perfect your washing skills, do some research. Many have videos on the "correct" way to wash, dry, polish, and apply the LSP of your choice.

Adams Polishes has an amazing array of videos as well.

I can dry my whole G8 with ONE Adams drying towel and I spritz the car with detail spray as I dry.

Wow, sounds nice Chewy lol. And what's the detail spray for? Just extra protection against water spots?

That, and it gives you that just waxed finish. Adams detail spray has a LSP extender. Basically it has a bit of carnauba in it.

Try it! You'll be amazed!

Sure, if you want to or have the time to wax after every wash, have at it! ;).

Adams DS also works great on your stainless appliances!

Pay close attention to how the water reacts on the surface of the truck. If it doesn't bead much...time for a full wax.

I buy in gallons ONLY... I have a 5 gallon container of it in the basement. If you pay attention to their posts on this forum or you like them on Facebook, you'll see they have sales. This is the time to pull the trigger. A lot of times you can use the discount code we have here with the sale. You just can't use a code with a code. So if they give you a code like "easter" you can't use it in conjunction with the forum code.

"Smoked" is right... If you can see the beads aren't round and plump, I usually hit it again.

Using a sealant like Adams Machine Super Sealant or their amazing Quick Sealant will allow you to extend the time between LSP applications. Quick Sealant is the easiest product you'll apply and last MONTHS on a DD. I use two applications (back to back) to get me through the winter here in IA.

A sealant will almost ALWAYS outlast a wax (carnuba), but a quality carnuba will add a bit more depth. I look at it like this. Sealant on the DD, Carnuba on the show car.

Side note: Always store your car care products in a cool spot. Basements or in the house is good. Garages (unless temp controlled) are BAD. They don't like heat and they don't like bitter cold.

I need to try this on our stainless appliances. Thanks for the tip!

Scrub the dirt off with a good cleaner like Adams All Purpose Cleaner and wipe clean, and then make the stainless pop with DS.

The neat thing is with the little bit of oils it has, it keeps smudges to a minimum. :worship:

Yes, there's a difference and not just price! There's a reason most really good pro-detainees have moved to them... And keep a variety on-hand. Different weaves, different pile and texture. Different sizes. All have their purpose.
