I'm pushing the idea of parting with this particular ram, not for any other reason but I'm not happy with the problems this particular truck is showing to have.
First it was the rear end, then it was the Lifters and cam, I feel something with the front brakes, ABS traction control like comes off and on, performance is hit and miss lately, feels like I'm towing a trailer sometimes when I'm not, the motor cutting out on quick corners has shown back up... I think this is just one of those problem child trucks built on a hung over monday...

I'm already planning on picking up a jeep for my family vehicle, which would turn the R/T into a toy so should I just keep it and do the crazy stuff I want to and replace the bad crap with better high performance parts and make a one off R/T or just get rid of it and get another. don't get me wrong I love having a R/T I picked it up for about 5-7K less than any other R/Ts of that year I found around so I have a little room for repair and replacement of parts before I loose value and I put more into repairs than its worth..
just thoughts and looking for opinions

I know what you mean man. I'm kinda getting tired off the lack of space and the rough ride of a lowered single cab. I drove that Rebel and was shocked at the ride. I love my truck, just kinda wondering if its better to get one with more space and pretty much leave it alone. Hopefully either way you come out on top and happy with your decision.

I keep telling the GF the next thing I buy is going to be a full out baja truck for the damn cali roads... the dirt roads on the farm are smoother than our paved roads out here...

I haven't had any issues with my truck that were the fault of the truck.

Everything that's ever been wrong has been because I screwed up putting something in or something like that. Still, you fix the problem and move on. After doing that it's been an absolute pleasure to daily drive.

yeah, the diff and the cam weren't in result of me putting anything on the truck, and I hear a rattle at higher RPM that worries me, that's where most of this is coming from.

I just really need to research more on how to get a 6.1L under the hood and if I can sneak it in and CALI CARB Nazis don't know it will then get juiced up.
I just don't want a truck that spends more time in the shop getting fixed than modified is the balance of my thoughts. I do really want to build a twin turbo 5.7L R/T though.

The 6.4L is an easy swap for these trucks.

Forget twin turbos. Do a single the right way and you'll get much better performance in the end.

Get a Crew Cab Sport package and call it a day! You'll be thankful for the extra room. :D

Well I was planning something similar to the Hellion TT set up for a Challenger. Iver talked to them and bugged them to design a set for the RAM but they have no plans to do so. I'm guessing cause the Ram's computer being so encrypted.

either way I'm sure it can be done. Ive been talking to another shop that specializes in turbos and such so we will see. I'd rather have 2 turbos that are smaller to keep it streetable. not looking to make a 2000hp monster. just a good 600-800hp and that can easily be done on similar power plants and their system when turned up. If I was building a drag truck I'd do the single turbo.
I'd put their website link in but I cant get it to work.. my internet is dumb

No extra room needed, just another seat belt, which the jeep takes care of.

If you get out of the truck, have you considered a Durango R/T? You could leave it stock or do a tune if you want more speed, but it's a nice smooth riding hauler. More planted feeling than the Jeep IMO. Owned a Durango R/T AWD and drove Jeeps before buying the Dodge.

IMO I would trade it in, once a problem child always a problem child.

comfort is fine by me.... I love the single cab lowered, if I went 4 door it gets lifted. they just look better to me lifted. and if I get a 4 door it will most likely be a diesel.

I'm pretty dead set on the jeep. I'm without a offroad rig at the moment, and I don't need or want 2 suv's jeep will be family rig / camping 4x4 crawler, and the R/T will be a commuter or maybe I'll buy a challenger or something if I decide to get rid of it. I may just replace it with a R/T idk.. on the fence with alot of it. but the jeep is for sure once I find it.

You're missing my point...

It's cheaper, easier, and more reliable to do a single turbo. There's less tubing, tuning, and things that can go wrong.

I've seen two different single turbo setups for these trucks, one out of Dallas TX and one out of Houston TX.

got any info on them, I'd be interested in seeing how they set it up? and cost really doesn't bother me, I'd rather do a build properly then worry about a few bucks. If I find a single set up that I like and works I'd go for it but I haven't seen or read about a set up that meets my requirements yet, most single turbo setups I find are bigger horse later spool. and for that I'd still have a sequential set up or at least a variable vain turbo (which I have yet to see someone put on a gasser) a true twin turbo system is what Ive seen builds best off the line and mid range, yes I loose a little on the high end but I'm looking more for low end to mid arena

I traded a Jeep for this Ram, I would never by the death wobble wrangler again. I think I'm gonna stick it out with this Ram. Aiming for 20 years, got 5 out of the way.

I can't even sit a new vette, lol. I'm serious I needed help getting out when I sat a vette.

One was a custom build. The guy made the manifold and setup himself. If you want, dig me up on Facebook and I'll send you a link on there. Wade Sheppard is my full name.

The other one was from a shop here in houston. I can't remember the name of the place, but it'll come to me. I went by and talked to them and they said they actually had problems with the turbo spooling TOO fast, so they had to go to a bigger turbo hahaha.

My buddy has a Nissan 240 with a 2JZ motor and he has a variable vein turbo. Those are the best IMO if you want towing torque and high end HP. It's what I would do if I went turbo.
