It is all about treating people with respect!!

I couldn't agree with that comment more! I know we all talked/ talk chit about other branches, hell I carpool with a Leatherneck every morning and we still talk chit back and forth from time to time. All good fun! But at the end of the day when chit hit the fan we all had a job to do, an oath we swore to, a country to represent, and a flag to protect. You all were and are my brothers and no matter what insigna you wore I had your back! After the fight we could all share a Beer together and go back to talking chit..........Brotherly Love!

The thoughts and memories expressed remind us. When we were in boot camp and MOS training, our difference were clear and understood. "leg" draftee versus paratroopers. CB's versus Marines. Navy "loungers" versus airmen. Recon versus grunts. But,,,when we all got in country and the **** hit, we were all the same. Unit, Corp, rank and color,,, bled red. That bond last a lifetime.

When stateside and not in the middle of the **** over in Thailand we had our differences, we made fun of each other and the other services but when it came down to it, we were united, bonded, and fierce, the overwhelming force that the opfor had to deal with.

There are admin people onboard ships, and they have duties other than admin when the crap hits the fan, so yeah, they are active duty too.

If you are away from your family on a ship, you are active, no matter what your rate is.

I suppose you're gonna say corpsman ain't active duty either ?? or mess specialists ??

You should know better........................but then again maybe not, you were a jarhead...........:)

There are times in life when ones thought or question needs to be sat on for a moment. Or we risk saying something that makes us sound like a smart ass. The only contribution a smart ass ever makes,,,,is they can sit on a ice cream cone and tell you what flavor it is. Things we learn as we get older.
