The mirror on my 2018 were no tow mirrors. The dealer changed them out with another used truck they had on the lot that had tow mirrors, heated, power adjust and power fold in/out. All of this works but the auto tilt down in revers does not work.

Note: they are black mirrors not chrome but I was fine with that.

There’s a setting that can turn off that feature. Maybe you’re are just turned off? I can look up what screen it is, but I know it’s an option.

The last time I looked into it there two versions of those mirrors. One has the "Memory" abilities, one does not. The Memory ability is required for the tilt in reverse to work. Sounds like you got the ones without it.

Thanks, the mirrors are not from a Laramie model or they would have been chrome I think.

so chrome caps is the indicator for determining if you can have the mirrors fold down automatically when you're in reverse? Is there no other way to tell?

No, there are black memory mirrors as well. They are just a rarer item. And not all crome mirroshave the memory feature. The only way to tell, as far as I know, is to remove the mirror from the truck and look at the part number, which is on molded into the surface that fits onto the truck. It's not hard to do though, remove the door panel and then 3 nuts.

I Want this feature. My Lincoln had it and when you get used to it you want it. Other than checking part numbers, is there any other way? What if I take the mirror off and look to see how many wires there are? Is that another tell? I think I want to see 7 wires and a white plug? Is that correct?
