Mirrors?

Ok, this is probably a stupid question, but for the life of me I can not figure out the difference between the mirrors that have the turn signal more as a strip on the lower portion of the housing, vs the turn signal up in the corner of the housing. Any help?

My Ram came with tow mirrors and the signal indicator on the top of mirror housing. I much rather have the signal strip on the bottom ,I think it's a far better feature . I'm going to add an amber led light on the bottom of my tow mirrors using t- taps wire connectors .

The ones with the lights in the upper corners are flip up tow mirrors
